Operation Shred 2021

The Clearwater Police Department, working alongside the city's Solid Waste Department, will offer free shredding to Clearwater residents on Saturday, April 26, at Countryside Mall. The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will also offer free collection of unwanted prescription drugs. It will take place in the mall parking lot near Whole Foods. Both services are for Clearwater residents and not for use by commercial interests. Proof of residency is required. Examples are a driver's license, tax statement, utility bill, or other documents with your name and address. The free shredding is a way to keep your sensitive financial documents safe. Papers will be shredded on site under the supervision of Clearwater Police economic crimes detectives. Getting rid of unwanted prescription drugs is also a safe and proper way of disposal. Flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash is hazardous to the environment.
