Clearwater Beach Marina Replacement Construction Project

Construction is underway now and includes two phases of construction. Phase 1 of the construction project has been broken into part A and part B due to damage to the fuel dock that will be undergoing repairs. The first phase includes the complete demolition and rebuild of the west side of the marina, shown in the image below.

Clearwater Beach Marina Traffic Impacts

Beginning Thursday, Dec. 5, construction at the Clearwater Beach Marina will begin impacting traffic. Work is expected to finish March 1, 2025, prior to the start of spring break. Traffic changes include the following:

• Northbound traffic along Coronado Drive will go from two lanes to one lane, starting at Third Street to the roundabout.
• Northeast-bound traffic along South Gulfview Boulevard will go from two lanes to one lane, starting at the Wyndham Grand crosswalk to the Coronado Drive intersection.
• The east Coronado sidewalk will be closed in the vicinity of the marina’s west seawall, and pedestrians will follow a detour route around the work zone using existing crossings. This pedestrian detour is fully ADA accessible.

During these temporary lane closures, drivers should give themselves more time along this route, use caution while traveling through the work zone, and remain alert for construction crews and pedestrians.

Pile Driving and Loud Construction Work

Construction work will be loud but is a necessary construction process. Pile driving, or the process of driving vertical columns into the ground to build piers, will occur between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. only, per city noise ordinance. Multiple vibration alarms will monitor the process to prevent damage to surrounding structures.
