The Public Communications Department helps keep Clearwater’s residents, neighborhoods, businesses and visitors informed and involved. The goal is to build trust through open, honest and regular communication while encouraging strong community engagement.

The department leads many of the city’s communication and outreach efforts. It shares the city’s message by managing social media, marketing, media relations, websites and other promotional materials. It also helps other city departments with communication campaigns and keeps the city’s branding consistent. Public Communications runs important programs like Citizens Academy, candidate forums and Neighborhoods Day. It works directly with neighborhood groups and residents to support local events and gather feedback to share with city leaders.

The department also creates and prints city signs, graphics and newsletters, including a citywide utility bill stuffer. It handles city mail through a courier service and produces videos, public service announcements and C-VIEW TV, the city's government access channel that streams council meetings and events. Public Communications plays a key role in making sure the city’s information is easy to find, easy to understand and reaches the people who need it most.
