Arts and Culture

The Clearwater Public Art and Design Program enriches the city's visual landscape, creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors. By incorporating public art, Clearwater reinforces its position as a cultural leader in the region, fostering a sense of community identity and civic pride.

The program mandates that city capital projects with a construction budget of $500,000 or more must allocate no less than 1% (and up to $200,000) of the project budget toward public art. This applies to both new construction and renovation projects such as buildings, trails, parking facilities, bridges, and other above-ground projects.

The Clearwater Public Art and Design Master Plan guides the selection and implementation of public art projects in the city. This plan outlines the criteria, policies, and priorities used to manage the public art program and ensure that public art is strategically placed throughout Clearwater to create a shared vision for public art in the community.
