Tree Removal Application Checklist

Tree removal that is a part of a construction project must be submitted as part of the Building Construction Permit (BCP) process.

Due to the benefits derived from a healthy tree canopy, the city of Clearwater has established tree protection standards that promote the preservation of and expansion of tree canopies. Additional information can be found on the Tree Removal and Replacement page and in the Residential Tree Replacement Guide.

Hiring a licensed ISA Arborist and insured contractor is highly recommended for tree removal, and these contractors can obtain the permit directly. However, a homeowner may do the work themselves or secure the permit for the contractor, but assumes more liability.
