Wildlife Sculptures at Crest Lake are a striking series of stainless-steel public artworks created by Live Steel Studio artist Donald Gialanella with assistance from Aleisha Prather. Installed along the Crest Lake Park Discovery Trail, these freestanding sculptures bring the local natural world into artistic focus.

Crafted in polished stainless steel, the series celebrates the biodiversity of the lake’s ecosystem by depicting five indigenous species that you might encounter in and around the water. These include an insect (a dragonfly), an amphibian (a frog), a fish, a waterbird (a moorhen), and an arachnid (a spider). Each sculpture captures the unique form and energy of its subject, drawing attention to the variety of wildlife that makes the Crest Lake area special.

Placed thoughtfully within the park landscape, the sculptures invite visitors to slow down, explore, and appreciate both the art and the real creatures that inspire it. These sculptures turn a scenic trail into an engaging outdoor gallery that highlights the beauty and diversity of Florida’s natural habitats.
